About the AYLA
For over 45 years, the Austin Young Lawyers Association has been known for its tradition of excellence in service
to the profession and community.
Since 1958, our talented and energetic members have made a difference in our
profession and the Austin community by planning and implementing our many projects. This year, in addition to our
continuing projects, AYLA members have fully implemented 5 new comprehensive projects and participated in
collaborative efforts with specialty bar associations, governmental entities, and community organizations.
The Austin Young Lawyers Association and its AYLA Foundation are non-profit organizations designed to
further professional, charitable and educational purposes.
AYLA is governed by a 13-member board of directors. Membership in the organization is open to any lawyer who is
36 years of age or under, or who has been licensed to practice law for less than three years as of June 1.
Membership is voluntary and dues are set at $50 per year. Currently our membership stands at 850. In addition
to this number, we also have 160 sustaining members.
The members of the Austin Young Lawyers Association share the
continued vision of justice through service to the profession and the community. We are committed to excellence as
a young lawyers affiliate and are appreciative of our affiliation with the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the
Young Lawyer Division of the American Bar Association
