The LBJ Library Future Forum

Thanks to the growing AYLA Civic Partners program, AYLA members can join the LBJ Library Future Forum at a discounted rate of $30. Future Forum focuses on expanding the involvement of young Texans with the LBJ Library and its programs by initiating dialogue about current issues and by providing educational and cultural information to its members. It is the ultimate goal of the Future Forum to foster greater civic involvement within our community.

Future Forum hosts a series of thought-provoking events and entertainment, including previews of exhibits, lectures, panel discussions, films, receptions, performances, and much more. These events also provide opportunities for dialogue about current issues among the Future Forum’s diverse membership. Future Forum also offers social gatherings that provide the opportunity for its membership group to connect with others in the community who appreciate civic involvement and support the LBJ Library.

Leadership Austin

Since 1979, Leadership Austin has fostered a nonpartisan environment where people of diverse backgrounds and experience convene to learn about leadership, create meaningful dialogue about important public issues, and collaborate to make a difference. The organization actively recruits community leaders and provides diverse educational leadership programs that teach the core values of community trusteeship, inclusiveness, collaborative decision-making, and personal responsibility.

AYLA is fortunate to have formed a Civic Partnership with Leadership Austin. Learn what it takes to become an effective community leader at Leadership Austin's Leadership Horizons seminar series. The Horizons programs are skill-building workshops that teach core competencies for effective leadership. This series includes sessions entitled, "Personal Branding," "Finding the Leader Within," and "Leadership and Creativity."
